ARTIST STATEMENT (June, 2022)
“If people would just look at the paintings, I don’t think they would have any trouble enjoying them. It’s like looking at a bed of flowers, you don’t tear your hair out over what it means.” - Jackson Pollock
When going about my day, I am often surprised when I notice an object sitting on the table or counter catches my eye. Sometimes, it is the way the light hits the object or the way the object is sitting. Or I see a uniqueness that connects it with an unusual idea. I usually stop, look closer and smile.
I paint small- harmonizing the colors, shapes, light and shade, to give viewers a moment to look and smile.
