BRETT HODGES
Brett's artistic painting journey began with abstract oil paintings. As his skills with oil developed, he wanted to further develop his skills by experimenting with other mediums such as acrylics, watercolors, and digital art. Each medium fascinated Brett's artistic desires for expression, as they require distinct skill sets. However, Brett consistently found himself drawn back to the joy and challenges of creating watercolor works.
Brett was honored to be one of the selected Emerging Artist for Omaha’s Artists’ Cooperative Gallery’s March 2024 Show. The show displayed Brett’s distinctive watercolor trees, which sold quite well during the month long show. That experience boosted his confidence, leading to his application for Omaha’s Radial Arts Center’s Arts Expo in May 2024, which was approved. He will be publicly displaying one of his new watercolor series, Women in Thought, at the Art Expo. These two opportunities to display and sell art in galleries are a humbling experience for Brett because prior to the shows, his art sold on Etsy to his group of clients and collectors.
